3.) 2025 Year in Review and Chapter 2 Update
Ok wow I am just now realizing how long it's been since we’ve made an update. Uh… Happy New Year everyone! Did you have a good 2025? God I hope so! With the yuletide concluding I thought it would be a great opportunity to give a little update about the future of the series.
2025 was a very exciting year for me and Olvia. After getting such a positive reception from the first chapter we’ve been talking a lot about how we want to proceed with the series. One thing we are specifically interested in is adapting BrainRot to be available on other platforms. BrainRotComic.com will always remain as the premiere spot for new chapter releases but it is quite clear that if we want the project to be sustainable we need to reach a wider audience. We’ve talked about Webtoons but I’ve also been keeping my eyes on smaller platforms such as Comix Cleric. Nothing is set in stone of course, but I just wanted to share where our heads have been recently because what else am I going to talk about!
...
Okay, fine. I’ll stop beating around the bush. I know what you’re really here for. Let's talk about…
Where is it?
In production. :P
lol
Ok but seriously. While I’d love to say, “things are wrapping and we are fast approaching a release date,” that's not true. In reality we’re probably closer to being only about halfway done, and considering Chapter 1 came out almost a year ago, that probably doesn’t sound very good. But to be fair there are a number of reasons why production on this chapter has been significantly slower than last time.
So what is taking so long?
Well first of all, following the release of Chapter 1 the decision was made that Chapters 2 and 3 would be developed simultaneously. There is plenty of overlap between the two chapters and this would be more efficient in the long run. However it does mean that our attention has been more split than ever before. This means that even if we produce work at the same pace as we did before we’ll get results half as quickly. So even though I wrote twice as many pages this year than I did in 2024, we’ve only begun working on the illustrations as late as October. It’s a very strange feeling, truth be told. Secondly, Chapter 2 and 3 are just way more image dense than Chapter 1. Like, significantly more. In truth Chapter 1 only had four traditional comic book style pages, but Chapter 2 is shaping up to have about fifty-five! Holy shit. That is way more illustration than both me and Olivia have ever done on a single project before, so it’s just gonna take a little while lmao! And finally, just, life dude. Sometimes it gets in the way. I’m just going to be real, this past year has been real difficult for both of us. We love BrainRot, it's a project we both really believe in but at the end of the day it doesn’t pay the bills. The daily grind can be exhausting enough without having self imposed project deadlines on top of it, so I hope you understand if occasionally we need to take a step back and recuperate.
But with that said, thank you for reading. It really does mean a lot to us. Hopefully this small update is enough to satiate your ravenous BrainRot withdrawal until we can finally release Chapter 2. It won’t be toooooo long. I swear! Hahaha…. Anyway have a great 2026 y’all and stay tuned, because things around here are only just getting started.
2.) Brain Rot Chapter 1 Hyperlink Update
Hello, welcome back! Since the launch of Chapter 1 Me and Olivia have been taking a well earned break. We plan on starting production on Chapter 2 and 3 towards the end of March but at the moment we’re focused on relaxing and personal projects. That doesn’t mean we’ve completely stepped away from Brain Rot though! We've had feedback thrown our way and so far it's been overwhelmingly positive! We’re so glad people have actually read and been enjoying the stupid little story we worked so hard on!
That being said, there were some unforeseen issues that needed to be resolved. The main one being that people were not clicking on the hyperlinks embedded in the document. Turns out we failed to properly communicate that the document was interactive. Apparently most people don’t expect comics to be have links in them, erm what?! Have we not all read Homestuck before lol? So yeah we updated the PDF with the goal of more clearly signposting what is a link that can be clicked on and what isn't. Now if some thing can be interacted with it'll be accompanied by a bright yellow chain symbol! Hopefully this allows people to more seamlessly have the intended reading experience.
That is it for now, if you want more frequent posts and updates be sure to follow us on Bluesky and Instagram. I try to post something there at least once a week so keep your eyes on those pages for new Brain Rot content! But now, if you’ll excuse me I have to go back to trying to S rank all the day stages in Sonic Unleashed. See ya! o7
1.) Brain Rot Chapter 1 has officially dropped!!!
Yes!! The day you’ve all been waiting for is finally here. The first chapter of Brain Rot has officially been released! We know you’ve all been refreshing this page with bated breath. Watching as Jade fiddles with gifs of Ralsei smoking a fat blunt. Eagerly anticipating the first major release by us two completely unknown independent artists. So we hope the first chapter meets those high expectations!
But seriously, we are very excited to share the first part of this project we've been working on for almost a year now. It feels like just yesterday we were talking about the real life baby that inspired this whole comic (don’t worry, they weren’t kidnapped, as far as we know… although the store in which they were sighted has since closed in their wake). After a long, chaotic brainstorming period (“wouldn’t it be crazy if that baby had powers?”), followed by months and months of putting our noses to the grindstone, it’s amazing seeing it all come together. And this is just the beginning…
We hope you enjoy!! Click here to read!!!
